So it's quickly becoming apparent to me - well maybe not so quickly since it's been 5 months since my last post! - that, while there may be seasons during which we're faced with more decisions than average, decision-making is LIFE! Right now we're in the "choosing a college" season with Kylie. We've looked at 6 seriously. She's ruled out one, been accepted at one, rejected from one, and is in process still with 2. It's always about choosing best vs. good. She's got good options. Which is best? We're praying and proceeding and praying!
So that's a big one right now, but every day there are literally dozens of decisions, the results of which, make up my life. What time to get up? What to wear? What to eat? Which route to take? How much time to spend... on the internet? In front of the TV? Reading? With God? With my family? Well, you get the point! And each decision forms my life. Obviously, some make more of a difference than others. What we eat and if we're on time for appointments and how much time we spend with God in His Word and prayer are more impactful than what we wear, for example.
So what does this mean to me? It means I want to live intentionally. Fully aware that every decision impacts the ME I am becoming. My priorities should determine the decisions I make so that the me I become is the me I - and the Lord - intended! If I want to be in a healthy relationship with Him, I need to spend regular time with Him in His Word and in prayer and in thanksgiving and praise. If I want to have a healthy relationship with the members of my family, I need to spend time with them, serve them, listen to them, enjoy them! If I want to live a long healthy life I need to eat healthy, exercise and take care of myself in the ways that matter.
To that last point, I'm trying to make decisions that will reverse some health issues and improve others. One thing we've been working on the last few weeks is cooking healthy, vegetarian dishes at home. I'm going to begin posting on this blog some of my favorite. Partly so I can remember them and find them and partly so that the one or two folks who read my blog can enjoy them as well!
Another decision I've just made is to become a distributor of the It Works! product line. These health and wellness products have proven quite successful in helping people lose weight and regain and maintain health. I'm going to blog here exactly what I'm doing and also share my progress or lack thereof honestly. This will serve to give me some accountability as well as hopefully give some inspiration to anyone who reads this and who also needs to make changes that will benefit their health!
Please let me know if you join me on this journey - or contact me if you are interested in any of the It Works! products! Beyond regaining my health with this company's products, I hope to grow my contribution to our family's income to fit the size of some of our dreams! So ask away if you have questions or, like me, want to get physically and financially fit! It's more fun with a team!
Excited for you and your recent decisions, I look forward to hearing more about your journey to a more healthy life!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with making all of those decisions...it is so hard sometimes to determine what is my will and what God is trying to tell me to do. Is it His will or am I just so headstrong that I am drowning Him out with my own whining!!
I know Kylie will bloom wherever she is planted, she is such a sweet spirit and a great role model for my girls!
Keep posting!
Maureen
Thanks, Maureen! You're always so encouraging to me! Happy Easter!!!
